Letter from the CEO
Our dealers’ success never fails to be a source of inspiration, and this summer, I had the privilege of honoring the achievements of the Toyota dealers who received this year’s President’s Award on behalf of TMH and TICF. The natural beauty of Scotland and Ireland served as a stunning backdrop for our trip, and it was a delight to spend relaxed time with our Toyota team and valued customers.
We are excited to announce that our Partners in Excellence program is already underway, and we look forward to helping our dealer partners qualify for next year’s award and accompanying trip. Look for more details about qualifications and current standings in this issue.
As summer begins to wind down, and we look toward fall, we are reminded of the excitement of the “back-to-school season.” In that spirit, we’re embracing a “back-to-basics” approach, refocusing on the fundamentals that matter most. In addition to our constant attention toward continuous improvement and innovation, we will be supporting new ways to help promote financing programs and products at your dealership by providing updated financing signage you can display in your stores and on your website. Your success is our success, and our goal is always to support you in fresh, creative ways.
With a plethora of dealer visits and upcoming events like Toyota Week and our Partners in Excellence trip, I look forward to spending more time with many of you and finding out how TICF can be the best financial partner. We recognize you have a choice—and we want you to feel confident in choosing us.
While we are excited for what’s to come, summer is not over yet! I wish all of you a chance to relax and unwind this summer, so we can come back refreshed for a superb fall.
Sincerely,

Announcing
Toyota Industries Commercial Finance’s
2025 Award Program
Partners in Excellence
Toyota Industries Commercial Finance is excited to announce the 2025 Partners of Excellence program, hosted at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach CA, a five-star, five-diamond luxury destination.
In the spirit of One Toyota, we created an incentive program and award trip bringing together both Hino and Toyota dealers and our OEM partners at Hino and TMH.
This year’s Partners of Excellence program runs from April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025. The trip for winners (and a guest) will take place in September 2025 at Pelican Hill Resort.
The top dealers (for Toyota and Hino each) based on the program parameters (outlined in the program flyer) will earn the distinctive Partners of Excellence Award and trip. Winners will be announced in early May. Should you have any questions regarding the program – your TICF Regional Sales Manager is available to assist.
“We truly value your partnership and look forward to continued collaboration in achieving mutual goals, customer loyalty, and long term profitability.”
You can also take a look at the 2024 Partners in Excellence winners and find out more about the program by clicking here.
Good luck and we hope to see you in the 2025 Partner’s Circle!
Meet Your RSM
LEISHA NALLS
Leisha Nalls, who just celebrated her eighth year at TICF, likes to say she “grew up here.” Her strong foundation of internal roles, starting in retail credit and moving to dealer credit where she worked with dealer principals and CFOs, sparked her interest in pursuing a pivot to the sales group. There she has discovered that her wealth of internal knowledge brings a valuable perspective when she’s out in the field.

The most rewarding part of this role is finally having the chance to meet the dealers who have long been her customers, such as one in Tulsa she recently met whom she’s worked with as long as she’s been with the company. “Any time I can get out and meet customers it feels so special and transcends the work environment—it’s more like meeting an old friend,” she says.
The material handling industry is a fascinating space, given its ever-evolving nature and the wide range of industries she’s become familiar with. For example, Nalls says she recently learned about a product that’s specific just to the rail industry. “Dealer products are so unique and complex, with these niches that each have their own specialties,” she notes. Another increasingly common innovation is the widespread use of automation, including the very “humanlike robots” she recently saw in action at a trade show.
While she finds her position rewarding, Nalls points out that the pivot to sales isn’t always easy, and she suggests anyone interested in pursuing a career take the opportunity to explore how other departments work for a more holistic view. The job shadowing she did was illuminating in learning more details about how each department impacts the other.
However, she has also realized that regardless of their various functions, all of the departments at TICF share one commonality—they all have the goal of supporting dealers and customers and take that seriously.
“While we recognize we wouldn’t have a business without our dealers, the relationship is symbiotic because we know we provide them with a valuable service,” she says. “Hands down what I hear constantly from our dealers is that we give them a huge advantage compared to with going to a bank, which is why they continue to work with us.”
In her opinion, the game changer that sets TICF apart is the ability to finance or sell a forklift multiple times as it moves through the lifecycle, which is a win-win for TICF and the dealers.
“Surprisingly, economics wasn’t my favorite subject in school, yet now I see it’s such an important part of what we do,” Nalls says. “I get so many questions about the economy, from inflation to rates, so I am paying more attention than I had ever expected, in addition to the insightful input I receive from our team that puts these factors into context.”
If she had one message for the dealers, it would be that every TICF associate is 100% there to support them. “The associates care deeply about helping your business grow,” she says, adding that she encourages them to take a tour and meet the team if their travel ever takes them near TICF headquarters outside of Dallas.
And, Nalls emphasizes, Dallas is a great place to visit. As a foodie, she enjoys the restaurant scene in Dallas and trying new cuisines. That’s also one of the draws for her penchant for international travel, where she loves exploring new cultures and learning about other countries.
Department Deep Dive
Meet the Funding Team
Working on the TICF Funding Team can feel like being an octopus, with multiple tentacles reaching out to various departments, as they expertly coordinate resources to keep projects thriving. “Everything we touch affects every department, from legal to taxes,” explains Jorge Hernandez, TICF’s Funding and Operations Support Supervisor. “If we’re not following procedures, everything can go awry.”
Comprised of 20 associates with more than 100 combined years of experience, the department supports National Accounts, Forklifts, and the Hino Truck portfolio, acting as the direct liaison between TICF and dealerships in contracts, ensuring all documents are reviewed and accurate prior to funding any leases.
“We make sure everything is in line with policies and procedures and that each contract meets all the stipulations—from the legal name to the down payment that’s required,” says Jeffrey Poblete, Funding Manager at TICF.
Of course, that includes aligning closely with the sales team, with funding and operational support specialists assigned to support specific dealers. In the spirit of continuous improvement, they gather feedback from dealers through the RSMs on systems like TC3 and funding policies and procedures.

The Funding Team aims to have all associates cross trained so everyone is equipped to service both the Truck and Material Handling portfolios. It’s a new initiative aimed at providing that next level of service, with every associate able to jump in and assist any client, says Poblete. “When they submit a deal to us, we want to be ready to book it immediately so they have their funds and can carry on with their business.”
One of the Funding Team’s biggest goals is ensuring dealers have adequate training in submitting clean deals, which is mutually beneficial. With the proper funding paperwork in hand, the department can get the deal submitted and funded as quickly and smoothly as possible.
“We work hand in hand with the dealers so they realize we are here to partner with them and support them,” Hernandez says. “We’re always looking for feedback on how TICF can be easier to work with to further our goal to be the best financial partner with the most efficient service.”
To that end, they make a point of visiting multiple dealerships throughout the year. “We want to pamper the dealer and convey how valued they are to the funding team and TICF,” Poblete says. “Without them, we are not here. We know that dealerships have a choice, and we always want them to be confident in why they have chosen us.”
And adds Hernandez, that appreciation goes for all the teams in TICF. “We’re here to partner with all the departments and work closely with these teams to streamline operations and better enhance the services they provide. We all need each other and no department would be here without the others.”
